By reimagining and placing things in new ways, she brings new life to what already exists and can change the feeling of an entire environment.

For her, consistently letting go of things has been a way to stay connected to who she is in the present. She sees it as personal growth, removing anything that stands in the way of moving forward.​​

​Background​

Before launching Making Sense of Spaces, Sam built her career in retail operations and visual merchandising. Her work involved managing inventory, developing stockroom systems, and creating environments that guided movement, behavior, and experience.

 

That background shapes how she approaches spaces today. Placement, layout, and flow are always considered together, and every room is approached as part of a connected system rather than a stand-alone space.

​​Merchandising the Home™ is Sam’s signature framework, blending professional organizing with visual merchandising principles. This approach goes beyond clearing surfaces or creating storage.

It focuses on how items are placed and how a space influences daily life. What is kept is treated with care and placed where it makes sense, so items are accessible, thoughtfully stored, or featured as part of the home as much as possible.
