Making Sense of Spaces is a home organizing and space transformation service founded by Samantha Carlyon.

Organizing is not simply the work Sam does. It is how she makes sense of the world around her, recognizing possibilities, understanding placement, and seeing how environments can better support the people. Creativity has always been a part of that process, allowing her to see connections, opportunities, and potential that may not be immediately obvious to others.

A Background in Retail, Operations & Visual Merchandising

 

Before founding Making Sense of Spaces, Sam spent years working in retail management, operations, sales, and visual merchandising.

​

Her experience included managing inventory, developing stockroom systems, planning and executing floor layouts, and creating environments designed to support movement, behavior, and overall experience.

​

She was trained in an environment where every detail mattered. Layouts, accessibility, inventory, presentation, and customer experience were continuously evaluated to create environments that felt seamless and easy to navigate.

Today, those same principles are applied to homes.
